Nearly four months into their investigation, RCMP have yet to lay charges in a major embezzlement at a Flin Flon bank.
Police received information in February that an employee at a local financial institution had stolen considerable dollars.
“The matter is currently still under investigation,” said RCMP spokesperson Cst. Tara Seel. “Commercial crimes like this are quite complex and do take some time to complete.”
Cst. Seel could not say whether charges are expected to be laid.
At the time the embezzlement was uncovered, RCMP said the full amount of money stolen was not known as a full audit was still being completed.
Police did, however, say the amount stolen was substantial and that their own investigation confirmed an internal theft.
RCMP did not identify the bank involved.
