Hudbay CEO David Garofalo tells AMM.com that he expects “somewhat of a surplus” of copper on the market in 2015 as new mines start opening.
He adds that copper should be in a deficit in 2016 because demand will outstrip investments made by senior mining companies, according to the website.
Hudbay predicts its own copper output will rise 570 per cent between 2013 and 2015 as its massive Constancia project in Peru enters production, according to the Seeking Alpha stock market news website.
