Residents will notice a new face at events occurring in the Flin Flon region.
Reporter Cassidy Dankochik has joined the team at The Reminder. Dankochik grew up in Gimli, Man. and graduated from the Creative Communications program at Red River College this year. He hopes to learn something from every story written, and has no doubt the people of Flin Flon will be able to expand his knowledge.
Dankochik began his career in 2013 writing for weeklies across southern Manitoba. His work has been published in both the Winnipeg Sun and Winnipeg Free Press alongside newspapers in Altona, Winkler-Morden, and the Interlake region. He also did commentary during Manitoba Bisons USports hockey games, including a four-overtime thriller that launched the Bisons women’s hockey team into the CanadaWest finals. During his last year at Red River College, he broadcasted the games of the Junior C’Red River Mudbugs.
Dankochik is always willing to talk sports and is looking forward to getting outside for a few rounds of golf when he has time this summer.
Dankochik has moved to Flin Flon for his first, permanent full-time opportunity as a journalist and is excited to cover communities in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
