In November, 2002, the Board of Education of the Creighton School Division asked their administrators to prepare a report regarding the feasibility of adding programming for grades 10, 11 and 12 to the present pre-kindergarten to grade 9 programming already in place at Creighton Community School. The board received this report and their regular meeting held on September 23, 2003. The report, some 35 pages in length, concludes that it is feasible to add grades 10, 11 and 12, one year at a time, to Creighton Community School. However, the board wants it to be clearly understood that no decision has been made to add these grades, and furthermore, that no such decision would be made without extensive consultation involving parents, staff, students and the public at large. The board has also asked that the report be widely circulated, beginning on October 8, 2003. Copies will be given to parents and all staff members in the Creighton Community School, as well as to the Flin Flon School Division Board of Trustees and their administrators, and the administrators at Hapnot Collegiate and Many Faces Education Centre. The councillors and administrators of the Northern Village of Denare Beach, the Town of Creighton and the City of Flin Flon will receive copies of the report, as will the local media. Copies of the report will also be available and can be picked up by interested persons at the Creighton School Division office in Creighton School. If anyone has any questions, please contact the Creighton School Division board office at 688-5825 or the principal or vice-principal of Creighton Community School at 688-5138.
