Although it's been the talk of the town for only the past few weeks, the idea of Creighton gaining its own high school program is not a new one. According to the feasibility report on the possible implementation of grades 10 to 12 at Creighton Community School, the concept has been pursued on six separate occasions beginning nearly four decades ago. "Over the years, there has always been a significant desire on the part of many people in Creighton to have their own high school," reads the report. "This is indicated in the fact that the Creighton School Division has indicated interest to Sask. Learning on a number of occasions, beginning in 1964..." The report went on to state that there were subsequent indications in 1982, 1994, 1998, 1999 and 2001. All of those efforts would have required a facility renovation and construction to be paid for primarily by the provincial government. In each instance, however, government approval was denied. Copies of the 47-page feasibility report are available at Creighton Community School.
