At this time of the year, most parents are rushing around getting their children new clothes for school and the most popular school supplies. What about the parents who are living below the poverty line and just struggling to put food on the table? They really don't need this extra pressure and their children don't need to be reminded that they are different! A spokesperson from the Lord's Bounty Food Bank stated, "The parents have to make a choice between sending their children to school with a lunch or school supplies." How sad is that! Parents, when you are out getting Johnny or Sally all their school supplies, or grandparents who don't have grandchildren near, why not pick up some school supplies and drop them in the food basket for the Food Bank? Let's try and take some of the pressure off the families who aren't as fortunate as we are! Call the food bank if you'd like to make a donation or drop off school supplies there. The number is 687-7262. Enjoy your day.8/24/2004
