To many musicians, having their tunes heard on the radio is a crowning achievement. Now local musicians are being given a chance to have their work enjoyed across Manitoba on CBC Radio. The network has launched a campaign, Manitoba Music Ñ We Want It All, asking recording artists to submit their tunes. "We want to get more Manitoba music on the air," said Robert Hardy, who is with Radio Promotions at CBC Manitoba. All submissions will be made available to CBC Radio One and CBC Radio Two. The music will be reviewed by a panel for the chance to be picked for the Manitoba Music Top Five. Every three to four months, songs featured on the top five list will be: profiled on CBC's Manitoba Web site; featured on shows like Information Radio, The Afternoon Edition, Culture Shock and Arts Encounters; and considered for upcoming CBC concert events like the CBC Harvest Breakfast. Hardy noted that submissions are welcome from Creighton and Denare Beach artists given their proximity to Flin Flon. To submit their work, artists must fill out a submission form and send it in with their music (ideally a CD, but cassette tapes will be accepted). Submission forms and additional information are available online at winnipeg.cbc.ca
