A rising musician kicked off a tour of western Canada Wednesday in the intimate confines of a Flin Flon book store. Saskatoon's Kimbal Siebert captivated a small crowd at The Orange Toad with a heartfelt folk performance. Flin Flon was not off the beaten path for the young musician, as he and wife Jodine, originally from Cranberry Portage, have many friends in the area. One of those friends suggested Siebert bring his talent to The Orange Toad, and a memorable coffee-shop style performance was the result. Siebert's taste for simplicity comes across both in his music and his lifestyle. According to his biography, he resides in a small home outside Saskatoon with wood heat, no running water and only one electrical breaker. He released his first full-length, instrumental CD, In My Own Words, in April. A multitalented man, Siebert picked up the bass at age five, guitar at seven and drums at ten.
