Submitted by Cranberry Portage Heritage Museum Executive The Cranberry Portage Heritage Museum Corp. is pleased and excited to announce that it has received title to the Cranberry Portage railway station. The station was gifted to the Museum by the Hudson Bay Railway Co. last month. This is the culmination of over a decade of work by people who believe that the way to preserve the history, stories and events that have shaped this town, is to create a museum. The executive was formed post-Homecoming celebrations, constitution and by-laws of the Cranberry Portage Heritage Museum were written early in 2004, corporation papers attained in May 2004 and it was registered as charitable organization in November 2004. A number of people and organizations deserve to be commended for their hard work and perseverance. All the people who have served on the executive over the past years have kept the idea of a museum moving forward and deserve a great deal of credit. We sincerely appreciate all the folks who purchased memberships over the years and all the others who have donated their time, artifacts and money. They are the reason we have reached this point in the creation of a museum. We now have a building, but the work is not done!
