Jonathon Naylor Editor The tiny Saskatchewan village of Smeaton is in shock following the alleged murder of a resident. RCMP have charged Antoine Ambrose Lariviere, 23, of Prince Albert with second degree murder in the death of Clayton Ralph White, 60. Police attended a Smeaton residence last Wednesday, April 25, discovering White's body. Officers immediately declared the death suspicious and put the matter under investigation. Aiding in the investigation were the Nipawin RCMP, Saskatoon Major Crimes Unit, and Forensic Identification Services out of Tisdale and Prince Albert. Lariviere was scheduled to make his first court appearance in Prince Albert last week. With fewer than 200 residents, Smeaton is situated at mile zero along the Hanson Lake Road. Many Flin Flon area residents know the village as their first gas-up point on a drive to Prince Albert or Saskatoon.
