Residents are invited to hear about MTS's plans for Northern Manitoba at a special meeting tomorrow evening, Tuesday, March 2. Kelvin Shephard, vice-president of network services for the Crown corporation, will be the guest at a community meeting at the Northern Room of the Victoria Inn beginning at 7 p.m. The Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce invited Shephard and welcomes all interested residents to attend. Topics will include cell phone service and MTS's short and long-term plans for the northern region. The chamber would also like to advise that its regular meeting scheduled for tomorrow at noon has been canceled. Gerard Jennissen, Flin Flon MLA, and Eric Robinson, Manitoba Minister of Culture, Heritage and Tourism, were slated as the guest speakers for the noon meeting. However, given that the Legislature begins today, the men will be unable to attend. Chamber president Doug O'Brien said he hoped the men could be rescheduled to speak at a future chamber meeting.
