Jonathon Naylor Editor Three Mounties are credited with saving the life of a man found unconscious on a sidewalk near The Pas. RCMP were called to the Bignell bridge on Highway 10 at about 4 p.m. last Wednesday, March 21, after the man was reported as unresponsive. One Mountie arrived first on scene and realized the man had no pulse and was not breathing. Additional officers as well as paramedics were called to assist. Began CPR The Mountie began CPR when two additional officers arrived. The trio continued CPR until paramedics arrived and took over. The 65-year-old man, a resident of The Pas area, was transported to the local hospital, where he was eventually revived and began breathing on his own. Police said medical personnel believe the quick actions of the RCMP members was key to his survival. The man was later transported to hospital in Winnipeg, where he remained for continued treatment as of last Friday.
