Ruth Betts School students have helped raise about $2,000 to add some green to their playground. The money will go to the Go For Green project, the aim of which is to have the playground area covered with sod. Students sold some 2,300 tickets for a Mother's Day raffle put on by the school's parent council. Grade 3 student Brandon Lam sold 30 books of tickets, more than any other student. Winning the top raffle prize, a $200 gift certificate from Kleen All Enterprises, was Trevor Brown. Lee Macfie took second prize, a $65 gift certificate from that same business. Jill Spiller won third prize, a $40 gift certificate from Sharon's Place.
