The Labour Day weekend is sometimes a busy three days for police, but that wasn't the case this year in the Flin Flon-Creighton area. Both RCMP detachments reported a generally quiet long weekend, save for an incident of vandalism in Denare Beach. On Friday, Sept. 3, sometime between 3 and 10 p.m., one or more vandals broke a window at 2044 Spruce St. by throwing rocks and branches. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 688-8888 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Other than that, the police blotter wasn't overly large. "The cold weather kept everybody inside, miserable," commented Flin Flon Cpl. Leslie Beck.
