Flin Flon RCMP have laid additional charges against the 16-year-old male accused of being behind a recent rash of home burglaries. The results of forensic testing have led police to press two additional break and enter charges. Meanwhile, another burglary victim has come forth, resulting in one more charge of possession of stolen property. The teen, who cannot be named because he is a young offender, now faces four counts of break and enter, and six counts of possession of stolen property. "I think that's probably going to be the extent of the charges," said Cpl. Leslie Beck. Cpl. Beck said that less than one-third of the stolen property, which included money, alcohol and jewelry, has been recovered. A resident of both Flin Flon and Pelican Narrows, the teen appeared in Flin Flon Provincial Court on Monday. He remains in custody in The Pas Correctional Institute until his next court appearance, scheduled for this Monday in Flin Flon. The teen is expected to be released into the custody of his mother following Monday's court appearance. Cpl. Beck said police are pleased to see that reports of break-ins have stopped since the youth was arrested January 7 in Pelican Narrows. The youth has been connected to six residential break-ins in Flin Flon between September and Christmas of 2003. The break-ins encompassed a broad area of the community, with homes on Green Street, Parkway Boulevard, Tweedsmuir Street, Third Avenue, Creekside Drive and South Hudson Street being targeted.
