This Monday’s edition of The Reminder will mark the final time the newspaper publishes on a Monday.
After careful consideration, The Reminder has decided to reduce the publication schedule to twice a week – every Wednesday and Friday.
“It was a difficult decision to make, but it’s important to the continuing health of the business,” said publisher Valerie Durnin.
Durnin said the Monday edition was always challenging because press times required that it be produced three days in advance, meaning weekend happenings were excluded until Wednesday.
“Now, with Wednesday being the first edition of the week, we will be able to include weekend events and news in that edition,” she said.
The Reminder launched a website late last year. Breaking news will continue to be posted on the website and linked to Facebook and other social media.
“This ensures that we can keep the community informed about news as it happens,” said Durnin.
