Jonathon Naylor Editor Two teenagers were taken to hospital last week after the snowmobile they were riding was struck by a pickup truck. Flin Flon RCMP said the accident occurred last Friday, Dec. 30 at 9:50 p.m. on the Channing Road near the Phantom Lake Golf Course. The operator of the snowmobile crossed the road while there was an oncoming vehicle, police said, adding the driver of the truck was unable to avoid a collision. The teens, aged 14 and 16, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Not at fault Police said the driver of the truck is not considered at fault. Both the snowmobile, and to a lesser extent the truck, sustained damage. Police are continuing their investigation into the mishap. Meanwhile, two other snowmobilers were thrown from their machine Jan. 2 after unexpectedly hitting an ice ridge on Little Athapap near Blondie's Beach. Police said both the adult male driver and his adult female passenger were ejected from the snowmobile upon impact. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver sustained minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment. The accident occurred around 2 p.m.
