A mini mall on Main St. will give busy shoppers another option this holiday season. Nineteen home business owners have signed up to sell their wares in the former Flin Flon Bakery from Dec. 6 until Christmas Eve. "There's going to be something new to see every day," said Lora Richard, a home business owner who is organizing the effort. The participating business owners will have a variety of products to offer, including blankets, pottery, jewellery, crafts, edible treats and artwork. A number of the businesses will only be present for a certain period of time, meaning shoppers will see different products with each visit. Richard, who owns Lora's Kitchen Nook, believes the mini mall will be a good opportunity for home businesses to gain exposure. "A lot of people who come in from out of town for Christmas shopping don't know that my business exists," she said. "The only way I'm letting people know that I exist is to get on Main St. during Christmastime." If her idea is a success this holiday season, Richard is not ruling out setting up a mini mall on a permanent basis. "I have thought of that if I had enough people interested," she said. "It's just a matter of getting the people to commit to it." Beginning Dec. 6, the mini mall will be open at the former bakery from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. It will have extended hours during Moonlight Madness. There are still spots available to rent. For more information, phone 687-4716 or 271-1307.
