Claude Resources says drill intercepts from its winter exploration program at the Amisk Gold Project have enlarged the known mineralization. The junior miner announced last week that eight drill holes have been completed and assayed as part of a program designed in part to expand the limits of the deposit. Claude said drilling successfully expanded the system along strike 400 metres to the southwest and 150 metres to the north of, and below, the conceptual open pit. Intercepts included 0.92 grams per tonne gold and 7.9 g/t silver over 36.6 metres in one hole, and 0.70 g/t gold and 3.5 g/t silver over 54.12 metres in another, the company said. Drilling has now intercepted the mineralized system over a strike length of 1,200 metres with a width of 400 metres and depths of in excess of 600 metres, Claude said, adding that the system remains open to the southwest, north and at depth. Five holes Five drill holes successfully confirmed continuity of gold mineralization within the northern portion of the deposit, the company said. Covering 15,400 hectares, the Amisk Gold Project is located on Missy Island just outside Denare Beach, 20 km southwest of Flin Flon. It is a joint venture between the Saskatoon-based Claude and another junior miner, St. Eugene Mining Corp., with Claude as the operator.
