Jonathon Naylor Editor Two Flin Flon men have a million reasons to celebrate after winning a seven-figure jackpot. The Reminder has confirmed that Travis Rideout and Shayne Brown won $1 million in last Friday's Lotto Max. The men, who had not formally claimed their prize as of Monday, were not yet ready to be interviewed about their amazing stroke of luck. Theirs was among 24 Lotto Max tickets across Canada to win $1 million last Friday, and the only one in Manitoba. A source told The Reminder that a worker at Lloydy's Corner Store reported the winning ticket was purchased there. It didn't take long for word of Rideout and Brown's massive prize to spread across Flin Flon through phone calls, texts, Facebook postings and general conversation. News of the win also reached the pages of the Winnipeg Free Press, but the paper did not identify the winners or their home community. A spokesperson for Western Canada Lottery Corp. said the organization would be issuing a news release once the prize is claimed. As many as 50 $1-million Lotto Max prizes were up for grabs last Friday, though fewer than half went. The big jackpot of $50 million was not won.
