Jonathon Naylor Editor Two men have been arrested after a video on Facebook showed a drunk man being punched in the face in The Pas. RCMP say the video, posted on the social-networking site May 5, depicted a group of individuals taunting a highly intoxicated man outside of the Legion in the northern town. The man walked away from the group but came back as they were calling out to him. As he approached the group, a much larger man punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground. The man was bleeding from the face and the individuals could be heard laughing hysterically on camera and commenting that they had caught the incident on video. While the individuals thought this was a laughing matter, Mounties say the video disgusted many citizens who in turn brought it to the attention of law enforcement. Deletion attempt As a result, police said, the individuals responsible quickly attempted to delete the video from Facebook, but it had already been saved by some concerned citizens and turned over to the RCMP. The victim seen in the video came forward after it was posted and provided a statement. He was so drunk at the time of the assault that, although he required hospital treatment, he had no memory of how he received his facial injuries until seeing the video. RCMP conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of both the alleged cameraman and the alleged assaulter. The men, aged 29 and 30, both residents of The Pas, have been charged with assault causing bodily harm. They were released on promises to appear with a court date of June 18.
