Manitoba Finance Minister Greg Selinger is coming to Flin Flon to gain residents' input on the upcoming provincial budget. Selinger will host a pre-budget consultation meeting this Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flin Flon City Council Chambers. "It is important to hear the ideas and concerns of Manitobans throughout the province," he said in a press statement. "Public consultations help us to gain a better understanding of the issues that affect different regions. Obviously, the priorities of citizens in rural and northern Manitoba are different than those in Winnipeg." Selinger noted in the release that managing growth will be one of the issues the budget will address. Other issues include balancing the budget while providing support to social programs such as health and education, reducing Manitobans' tax burden and paying down the debt.
