Jonathon Naylor Editor The body of a Sandy Bay man was found in or around the northern Saskatchewan reserve last week, three days after he was last seen alive. As of press time Monday, police had not ruled out foul play _ or any other cause of death _ in the passing of Darcy Marcial Merasty, 38. An autopsy was scheduled for later this week. Merasty was found last Friday, Dec. 7. He had last been seen leaving a friend's residence in Sandy Bay on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 11:45 p.m. Police had issued a full description of Merasty as well as his photo. His family said it was out of character for him not to be in contact with family members. Like many Sandy Bay residents, Merasty was known to frequent Flin Flon, a community 190 kilometres away. He also spent considerable time in Prince Albert, La Ronge and Air Ronge. While Merasty's body was found on Dec. 7, it took police until Monday, Dec. 10, to release that information, something for which they apologized. No other details were available.
