According to groundhog Winnipeg Willow and groundhog puppet Manitoba Merv, Manitoba can expect an early spring this year.
The two Groundhog Day mascots were unable to see their shadows on Monday, Feb. 2, as it was cloudy and overcast.
And as the story goes: no shadow means and early spring for Manitoba.
Ontario’s Wiarton Willie agreed with both Merv and Willow that there will be an early spring.
Environment Canada, on the other hand, has predicted a “colder than normal [February] across the country,” according to the Huffington Post.
South of the border, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted another six weeks of winter for Pennsylvania.
