Manitoba patients have access to another 54 drugs through the province’s Pharmacare Program, including the highly effective Holkira Pak for the treatment of hepatitis C.
Health Minister Sharon Blady made the announcement on Monday, with the new coverage having taken effect last week.
Among the other drugs being covered under Pharmacare are Diacomit for epilepsy, Jaydess for contraception, Inspra for heart failure and two medications for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Of the 54 drugs added, 24 are generic medications.
