A Cross Lake man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting on the northern Manitoba reserve. This past Sunday, July 21, at 1 p.m., Cross Lake RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, police discovered a 43-year-old man outside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital in Winnipeg for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Investigators determined that a disagreement between two men at a residence led to the shooting. RCMP have arrested Cory Alex Nabess, 39, of Cross Lake. He has been charged with a number of Criminal Code offences for his alleged involvement, including attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Nabess remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on Friday. No further information is available at this time. Police continue to investigate. _ RCMP 'D' Division
