Police credit a quick-thinking neighbour with saving the life of a Sherridon man whose clothes somehow caught fire Sunday morning. The neighbour noticed the flames in a nearby dwelling and entered to rescue the 49-year-old victim and douse him with water. The victim suffered severe burns and was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg for treatment, where he remained in stable condition yesterday. Cranberry Portage RCMP Cpl. Doug Ashton said yesterday it does not appear as though the fire, which failed to spread to the man's dwelling, was suspicious in nature. Police are continuing their investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Commissioner. The remote community of Sherridon is located about 60 kilometres northeast of Flin Flon.
