A 20-year-old Pelican Narrows man has been charged in relation to a death in the community earlier this month.
Brett Napoleon Michel, 20, of Pelican Narrows, was arrested without incident relating to the death of Jordan Bedard and has been charged with one count of second degree murder.
Bedard, 19, of Sandy Bay, was rushed to the reserve’s health centre on July 11. He had been at a social gathering at a home in Pelican Narrows before being transported to hospital.
Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful and Bedard was declared deceased shortly after arrival at the health centre.
Michel appeared in court on July 18. The case was adjourned until August 9 at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
An investigation by RCMP and the chief coroner continues.
