The construction of new commercial buildings has come to a halt at the Flintoba Shopping Centre for undisclosed reasons. Gerhard Rattai, vice-president of Winnipeg-based Kraft Construction, the company behind the development, said yesterday that "there's been a bit of a break" but work "will commence shortly, full throttle ahead." A worker involved with the project did not wish to comment on the stoppage, which he said began last Tuesday. Rattai said commitments are in place for the construction of the three new buildings, which will house a Mark's Work Warehouse outlet, an apparent A&W restaurant, and several different tenants respectively. Construction on the purported A&W restaurant actually stopped in late July, apparently for reasons unrelated to this latest development. A&W has not confirmed it is coming to Flin Flon, but workers who were erecting the building said it will indeed be an A&W outlet. The plan remains to have all three buildings completed before the year is out, Rattai said.
