She was in shock. She was numb. She couldn’t believe her luck.
Local resident Sophia Rowe recently won $75,000 on a Lucky Lines Multiplier Scratch ‘N Win ticket.
“I was really surprised,” she said. “I think the clerk was more visibly excited than I was. I just didn’t know what to do with myself.”
Rowe said she didn’t know she had won anything when she entered the store to check the ticket.
“After the clerk scanned it, it said, ‘Do not tear ticket,’” she said. “I thought that was a little unusual.
“The retailer then told me I had won $75,000.”
Rowe and her husband plan to use the winnings to pay off the retirement home they just finished building in Newfoundland and Labrador. She purchased the winning ticket at Creighton Super Stop.
