The loss of emergency services at the hospital in Watrous has the Saskatchewan government taking flack over its record on health care. It was announced last week that the small town, located about 100 km east of Saskatoon, would lose its ER, at least for now, due to a lack of doctors. Third loss The opposition NDP said it was the third loss of services at a rural Saskatchewan hospital in as many weeks. The Shellbrook hospital has announced it will no longer be accepting acute care patients, and the hospital in Turtleford said its emergency services would be eliminated. "This outrageous lack of care and attention to the health of Saskatchewan families is another sign of the Wall government's negligence when it comes to delivering proper health care," said Health Critic Judy Junor. Junor said the province's physician recruitment plan has failed since several communities are without sufficient doctors.
