Those people who are interested in the history of the local region are reminded about an unveiling that will be taking place at the Flin Flon Public Library this Friday, July 2. A bronze plaque that was once attached to the face of a four sided stone cairn along the railway just north of Cranberry Portage has been brought into the library for safe keeping. The plague was set in place 75 years ago by Harry McLean, a famous Canadian construction foreman who built the rail line in 1928. McLean erected the plague to honour the workers who worked on the project. The Flin Flon Public Archives members invite the general public to the library for coffee and dainties, and a special time to share a piece of our area's history together, Friday at 2 p.m.
