Jonathon Naylor Editor A celebrated Flin Flon painter took top spot at a recent art show. Eila Duncalfe won in the painting category at last month's adjudicated art show in La Ronge. Duncalfe, known for her wilderness-inspired works, submitted five acrylic paintings to the show: A Sparkle of Spring, Barren Ground Caribou, Mistik Creek, Boxwood and Geese, and Island View. Two other local artists, Margaret Britton (photography) and Karen Clark (painting), submitted their work. Winners were named in the painting, photography and fibre art categories. The show was presented by the La Ronge Arts Council and the Northern Sports, Culture and Recreation District as part of the 2013 Northern Saskatchewan Sport, Culture and Recreation Festival. It took place Feb. 20 and 21 at La Ronge's Mistasinihk Place Interpretive Centre.
