The local area showed some northern hospitality recently when the Lions' camper trailer draw was awarded to a Thompson citizen. Juan Colbourne of Thompson won the Dutchmen Sport Lite camper, valued at $23,710 in the draw held July 4th. Arrangements have been made for Juan to come to Flin Flon next weekend and pick up his 19 ft. prize on wheels, and take it back home with him. For those who may be a little saddened that they didn't win the camper trailer, you can take consolation knowing the money raised through the draw will be going to support good causes. Local charities will benefit, as the members of the Flin Flon Lions Club continue to reach out and help people in the Flin Flon / Creighton area, as well as those in Cranberry Portage Denare Beach. Besides helping charities, money raised through this draw is used to help people who face unexpected medical costs, such as the need for transportation to a larger centre.12/7/04
