The Flin Flon Lions Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary at the Legion Hall on Saturday, October 4th. Guest speaker for the evening is Lions International Director Bruce Schwartz of Bismark, North Dakota. A Lion since 1962 and a member of the Bismark Lions Club since 1983, Director Schwartz has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairman, region chairman and district governor. Director Schwartz and his wife Lion Julie are looking forward to their first visit to Flin Flon. Also attending the Lions function are two of the club's Charter members, along with PDG Roly Hollyoake of the Souris Lions Club who attended when the local Club was chartered back in 1953. Other invited guests include area mayors, MLAs, MPs and representatives of local organizations. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with dancing.
