New Flin Flon MLA Tom Lindsey has been given two portfolios in the NDP shadow cabinet.

This week saw Lindsey named opposition critic for Labour and Mineral Resources as well as Sports, Culture and Heritage.

“Over a third of all hard-working Manitobans fall under collective agreements and are concerned about job security, particularly those in front-line services and in the North,” Lindsey said in a news release. “I will make sure government has their best interests in mind, keeping workers safe and protecting jobs across our province.”

Lindsey, who was elected to the legislature last month, brings extensive union and mining-industry experience to the position.

His deputy critic will be former premier Greg Selinger. All 14 NDP MLAs were given a shadow cabinet portfolio.
