Story from pg. 1 Pettersen likened life to a race, saying you can always start over if needed. He urged the grads to create a vision of their future and stay motivated to fulfill their goals. Reflecting the close-knit nature of Many Faces, Wednesday's ceremony featured brief, sometimes-humourous biographies of each graduate, delivered by staff members who were closest to them. Dressed in black and white gowns with teal sashes, the graduates smiled as they sat on stage overlooking the audience. Aside from the parents, spouses, children and friends, in attendance were dignitaries such as Flin Flon School Division Superintendent Blaine Veitch, MP Niki Ashton and Trustee Murray Skeavington, school board chair. White, black and teal balloons _ representing the school colours _ floated above the floor as the guests applauded the grads on their special night. Five students _ Christine Lussier, Shauna Gardner, Candace Field, Tony Chupik and Ivy Blackmon _ were named to the honour roll for having averages of at least 80 per cent. Awards, scholarships and bursaries were also presented: Governor General's Bronze Medal (highest average) - Danielle McIntyre UCN Scholarship (tuition for one year) - Josh Brown Flin Flon School Division Scholarship ($1,000) - Candace Field Brian King Memorial Scholarship ($500) - Ivy Blackmon USW Local 7106 Scholarship ($500) - Cody Burke Women's Resource Centre Scholarship ($500) - Reegan Caribou Art Wallenberg Memorial Bursary ($350) - Tashina Bear Manitoba M_tis Federation Scholarship ($250) - Jessica Bartle and Hannah Fisher Tri-Service Volunteerism Scholarship ($200) - Audrey Morin Many Faces Alumni Scholarships ($200) - Brendley Fieber, Danielle McIntyre, Brenna Henry, Audrey Morin, Gina Bear Hapnot Collegiate's graduation was to take place last night at the Whitney Forum.
