The McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac library is turning a page with an extensive renovation project this summer. Contractors have ripped out the old brown carpet as they prepare to replace it with tile and a blue hypoallergenic rug. Also part of the fresh look will be the relocation of the shelving to one side, opening the library up, and a colourful native mural in the story pit area. "With the renovations, the library will will look completely different and new for the students and staff," said library technician June Reed. The tile flooring will cover about half of the library, stretching from the main entrance to the top stairs of the story pit. The other half will be covered by special hypoallergenic carpeting. The students got to select the carpet colour, tidal blue, through a survey of the classes taken in May. It took over 300 boxes to contain the library's collection of over 16,000 books.
