Millions of fluffy snowflakes, the kind children try to catch with their tongues, made Flin Flon look like a giant snow globe village yesterday. Between the morning and about one o'clock in the afternoon, about four centimetres of the white stuff had descended, according to Environment Canada. The snow continued to gently float to the ground as the sun set. An additional seven centimetres of snow came down overnight Saturday. The fresh white blanket, combined with the modest January temperatures, prompted many residents to get out their snowmobiles and toboggans for some winter fun. Just as many residents were seen clearing their sidewalks Ð shovels and snowblowers in hand. With the added snow came slipperier roads, meaning motorists had to exercise added caution, particularly on the many hills that dot the Flin Flon landscape.
