If there wasn't something for everyone at the Creighton Sportex over the weekend, it was pretty close. Hundreds of people stopped by to check out CFAR's 21st Annual Trade and Leisure Show and Sale, which began Thursday and wrapped up Saturday afternoon. Nearly 80 booths representing a wide range of businesses and organizations were showcased. Thousands of items were available. There was the large and lavish, such as cars and motorhomes, and the more affordable, like books, framed prints, and wooden crafts. There were also opportunities to learn about community services, with the likes of the NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority and Greenstone Community Futures Development Corporation on hand. As usual, one of the more popular booths was that of Original Dutch Fudge. Headed by Kelly Friesen, whom many residents have christened "The Fudge Guy," the booth carries tasty treats that are a sure-fire hit each year. While the show made for an enjoyable shopping spree for area residents, it was an equally worthwhile experience for the businesses and organizations that rented booths. It was an opportunity to introduce themselves to new customers of all ages. Local businesses and groups rented many of the booths, but a number of others came from place such as Saskatoon, Swan River, Prince Albert, and Carmen.
