Wendy Corden, Heaven Graham, Indra Wood and Brandon Kolt gained a first-hand understanding of diplomacy and international relations when they represented Hapnot Collegiate at the Winnipeg Model United Nations Assembly, held May 12 to 15. Students from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Minnesota, South Carolina and the Dakotas attended the model UN, with pairs of grade 10 to 12 students representing each UN delegate nation. Corden and Graham represented Indonesia while Wood and Kolt represented Iraq. The supervising Hapnot teacher, Laura Sparling, said the students played the roles of their countries’ representatives well.
