Jonathon Naylor Editor A traditional leaching process is sufficient to recover gold and silver unearthed from a mineral property near Denare Beach, a junior miner announced last week. St. Eugene Mining Corp. said tests from its Amisk Gold Project show those metals can be recovered at high rates through the use of cyanidation with carbon-in-pulp technology. Jennifer Boyle, president and CEO of the Toronto-based company, said the metallurgical test results "speak to the quality of the resource at the Amisk Gold Project." But "more importantly, they demonstrate that gold and silver recoveries can be successfully achieved with simple conventional leaching processes," she added in a news release. St. Eugene said the tests demonstrated that gold recovery of 90 per cent and silver recovery of up to 93 per cent can be obtained with this particular process. The Amisk Gold Project is a joint venture between St. Eugene and another junior miner, Claude Resources. St. Eugene holds a 35 per cent participating interest in the project while Claude Resources holds a 65 per cent interest and is the operator of the joint venture.
