The Creighton Kodiaks are two-time Northern Saskatchewan Football League champions.
The Kodiaks defeated the La Ronge-Churchill Chargers 9-0 Saturday afternoon to repeat as Ralph Pilz Trophy winners.
The NSFL's top two teams hit the field in Prince Albert with Creighton taking charge early on. At halftime, the Kodiaks held a respectable 3-0 lead and never looked back.
The victory rekindled memories of Creighton's surprise run to the league championship last year, their inaugural season, when they downed the Pinehouse Lakers in the final. It also means the Kodiaks are undefeated in their two-season history.
The Kodiaks will now host their first-ever provincial playoff game next Saturday, Oct. 24. Hundreds of fans are expected at the Creighton football / soccer field for the historic match-up.
The Reminder will have more on the Kodiaks' big victory, and their upcoming playoff game, in our Wednesday print edition.
