The Flin Flon Kinettes, now known as Kin Canada, whose membership is at present 10 members, have been busy fundraising for their community. This past year they had a coat check at the Old Time Bombers social, meat draws at Raven's Roost and in their annual Christmas Tree Sale were able to make enough money to donate $3,500 dollars to various service organizations in our community. Tauvia Alexander, president of the Kinette Club presented cheques of $500 each to : Merle Guymer and Colleen Arnold from Women's Safe Haven Capt. Shellie Kirschman, one for the Salvation Army food hampers and one for their Angel Tree Program. (There is a tree in the Salvation Army Thrift Shop that has angels hanging on it. A person can simply take an angel off the tree and buy a gift for the description on the angel, for example a boy three years old). Gord Evans from the Elks Christmas Cheer Fund also received a cheque. Carol Hydamaka from the Lord's Food Bounty received a cheque. Darby Johanson from the Palliative Care Unit received a cheque. Ida Kozar from the Children's Christmas Gift Program will receive a cheque as well.
