On Wednesday, May 5 the Kids Club at the Salvation Army had their last meeting for this session and will begin again in September. Kids (stand for kids in divine service) club is opened to children from Kindergarten to grade 6. The children meet every Wednesday after school. The kids are picked up by Capt. John Kirschman from their various schools, including Creighton, with the exception of McIsaac from where the kids can walk to the church hall. The club is run by Capt. Schellie Kirschman and teaches the children through various mediums such as puppet plays, singing and dancing, how to express themselves and learn about Jesus Christ. This club is a replacement for Sunday School. There were over 30 children present at the wind-up party. Any child can join. There is no fee just call the Kirschman's at the church hall. There is also a Moms and Tots Program held every Thursday afternoon in the Church Hall. According to Capt. John, "this is a very popular program, probably the most popular event in the church." There is a "ton" of toys for the children to play with.
