The fun-loving youngsters who gather at the Rotary Park wading pool each summer have reason to smile. Yesterday, an overhead spray structure went up beside the pool, ready to rain down water on laughing youngsters next July. "It's no longer just a wading pool; it's a spray pool," said park volunteer Reg Hiebert. The bright red spray structure, built in the shape of an old fashioned hand water pump, is the complimentary work of Denare Beach welder Russell Bowes. "He built it from scratch, and if you take a close look at it, it's a real work of art," said Hiebert. The sprayer is set to be hooked up to water next spring and ready for use during a grand opening on July 1, 2005. It's the latest upgrade to the park in recent months. Plans are also in the works to repaint the pool, supply lighting over the jungle gym area, and "spruce up" the existing play structures and add to them.
