From boats to ATVs, the Creighton Sportex was an outdoor-lover's paradise this past weekend. The Second Annual Northland Sport and Auto Show, organized by Northland Ford of Flin Flon, welcomed some 2,000 visitors. Northland showcased a wide variety of its durable cars and trucks, including the brand spankin' new 2014 Ford Mustang. Two other vendors, Frontline Sport and Leisure of Creighton and Frank Dunn Trailer Sales of Prince Albert, also displayed their impressive wares. Colby McConnell, sales manager for Northland Ford, said the goal was not to make sales, but to generate interest. He called the show 'an indoor event where we can showcase the exciting new products that all three of us have to offer.' With knowledgeable sales staff on hand to answer questions, McConnell relished a laid-back atmosphere that allowed visitors to step on _ or inside _ the vehicles. McConnell considered the show, which ran April 18, 19 and 20, a major success. 'The parking lot was full all day long,' he said. Among the vehicles garnering plenty of attention was the 2013 Ford Raptor, a rare model of truck. Then there was the white SnoBear, an unusual looking Bombardier-like vehicle billed as the 'Ultimate Ice-Fisherman's Dream.' Many a visitor dined on a 'Len Dog' from the Sportex concession, which is operated by Creighton's own Len Dupre.
