The Manitoba government wants your input into the preparation of the 2005 provincial budget. A series of public meetings are slated for the next several weeks, though none will take place in Flin Flon. But residents may still share their opinions by writing to Finance Minister Greg Selinger c/o Budget Consultations, Room 103, Legislative Building, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0V8. Selinger may be reached by e-mail at: [email protected]. "I am looking forward to hearing the views, ideas and concerns of Manitobans in every region of the province," said Selinger in a press statement. "I encourage all Manitobans to exercise their voice in the budget process and share their views on the many important issues facing our province." Selinger noted in his statement that managing growth will be one of the issues the budget will address. The statement said the province wants to balance the budget while providing support to social programs such as health and education, reducing the tax burden and paying down the debt.
