The Creighton School Division turned a small surplus last year, audited financial statements show.
Overall revenue for 2013-14 was $6,482,098 with expenditures totalling $6,449,685, resulting in a $32,413 surplus.
“While expenditures have remained relatively constant year over year, there was a decline in revenue from the Government of Saskatchewan grants due to a decline in school enrolment,” the school division said in a press release.
The division continues to receive a little over $200,000 in transition funding as a new funding framework is implemented across the province.
This funding is slated to be removed in the province’s 2015 budget announcement, the release said.
“If this occurs the board will have some difficult decisions to make to prepare a balanced budget for the 2015-2016 school year,” read the release.
