Hudbay and IAM Local 1848 have reached a tentative deal to end the union's 17-week strike, with members voting tomorrow on whether to accept the company's latest offer.
“Hudbay and IAMAW, Local 1848, with the assistance of a federal mediator, have reached a tentative three-year agreement covering approximately 180 employees in the Flin Flon and Snow Lake areas which could end a 17-week strike,” read a joint statement issued early Wednesday evening by Hudbay and IAM. “The tentative agreement is being unanimously recommended by IAMAW, Local 1848 and details will be provided to their membership as soon as possible for review and ratification.”
